For the second time, companies associated to ABIMO and as partsmembers of the Brazilian Health Devices Project, which is executed by this same entity in partnership with Apex-Brasil (Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency), were in Johanesburgo, South Africa, attending the Africa Health Exhibition & Congress 2014, which were held betwen  May 29th to May 31st . The Africa Health trade show, which is in its 4th 4th  edition, is organized by the same group that organizes the Arab Health exhibition.

This year, the Africa Health trade show hosted over 450 of the world's leading manufacturers, distributors and service providers who were there to discuss the latest innovations in technologies and trends in the healthcare industry. The event attracted nearly 8000 professionals, according to the organization.

10 companies formed the Brazilian pavillion: Baumer, Driller, Fanem, HpBio, Ibramed, Indrel, Locktal, Phoenix, Samtronic and Wama.

“The trade show surprised for the quality of the visitors we had”, says the exports supervisor of Baumer, Priscilla Bartholomew. "Companies really focused on our business, with real prospects for concretizing partnerships in the coming months." Africa is a target market for Baumer and the participation at the trade show must leverage business in the region.

The main goal of Phoenix Luferco in Africa Health was obtaining contacts in aAfrican countries which have not attended the other trade shows, and it was achieved, according to the exports responsible personsupervisor, Keila Vitola: "We got the contacts with potential customers from about 10 countries and we accomplished business with a contact already existing in Angola. I am very pleased with the contacts made and the results of the event. "

The participants' perception of Africa Health of this year is that the trade show has improved: "We had twice as many contacts this year, and they were from various countries in Africa," says the ABIMO’s trade promotion coordinator of trade promotion of ABIMO, Clara Porto. "The market is no longer just focused on South Africa, and it is regionalizing and becoming a benchmark for key players of the industry in the African continent".

"Compared to the previous year, the Africa Health was actually much better in 2014, not only in terms of location of the stands, but also in the number and quality of visitors," celebrates Luciano Rodrigues, manager of international sales for Locktal. "The market is strategic for Locktal".

Companies made 385 contacts with 32 countries. Over $ 141 thousand were made in business with buyers from South Africa, Angola, Botswana, Uganda and the expectation for the next twelve months is more than $ 2 millions.
